Royal George in Tintern, with it’s open fire and range of real cask ales serves seafood alongside wholesome pub food and is five miles from the cottage.
Tintern, two miles away, has a number of pubs. For great evening meals, good value cosy pub with open fires, we reccomend The Fountain Inn Trelleck Grange. For dining & riverside shopping and a great place for lunch is Abbymill.
For great views of the Abbey and a hearty pub meal then we would also recommend The Anchor Inn. For a sizzling steak then we would suggest The Rose and Crown.
A little further afield but well worth the journey for quality home cooked food in a traditional setting is the Ostrich Inn in Newland, approximately 10 miles away.
For fine dining, we would thoroughly recommend the Michelin Star restaurant The Whitebrook, which is 8 miles from Spring Cottage.
